My original post read: My daughter was born on May 23rd. She is my fourth child. It is hard to believe I have four children. It is crazy how I love all my children the same. I do not love one more than the other. She is 4 weeks old today. I can't put her down. She is so beautiful. She is the most beautiful baby I have ever seen in my life. Those blue eyes, who knows what color they will be. Her brown hair. She has so much hair. Right now she sleeps. I can't take my eyes off of her beautiful face.
This is the first time I have ever blogged. I have heard about blogging mainly through the movies. I have never been interested in learning more about it. I can see how it might get addicting. Can anyone find your blog? I will have to read more about blogs to find this out. Blogging can be fun because you can get out all of your thoughts. It is almost like a diary except for anyone can read it. The one thing that would make me nervous would be to have all my personal information on the web. I have a facebook account, but it seems more private because only friends can view the information. I am hardly on facebook because it seems like people left and right are getting in trouble for saying or doing something on facebook.
I think I would like to try to use blogging in my middle school social studies classroom. It might be really fun for students to blog about what they are learning in my class. It is a thought I am having for next year. I will have to plan it out. Maybe students could read about a new topic, do research, create a project, and blog everyday about the process. Maybe the students could blog about the actual material and what they are learning. Wow, writing 500 words about blogging is not easy. I thought I had a lot at 431. I am having fun reading other blogs, I can see how I might spend too much time reading blogs and blogging myself. It might also be fun to blog when students are preparing for a debate, or when they have to work as a group, but do not have time to get together. They could blog the information then put it together. This would help me see who found what information and know who participated and how much.
A blog that I am interested in is http://www.lifeorganizeit.com/i-want-my-dining-room-table-back.html
I'm like you, I also set up my blog without fully reading the instructions.
ReplyDeleteI got a big kick out of your blog link about the dining room table. My wife confiscated our dining room table many years ago and I only see it on Thanksgiving day and sometimes on Easter Sunday.
I like the organization blog too!
ReplyDeleteOrganization is a critical component of an effective classroom.
Organization is an enormous challenge for me. My desk can become a mountain in no time! Once I'm disorganized, I'm flustered and frustrated...I still don't have a system for organization in my classroom.
I believe that organization in the classroom is tied to literacy development...if the classroom is not accessible easy-to-navigate with text, technology and supplies at my fingertips and student fingertips then literacy is not that accessible!
I hope that your experiences with keeping a blog is an insightful experience for you. It certainly has been for me. I have come to find that writing entries for a blog requires a knowledge of the genre, which I am certainly still acquiring.
